Getting Here

Theatr Clwyd is set on top of a hill overlooking the beautiful market town of Mold.

The roads surrounding the theatre have prominent brown and white signs making us very easy to find – however we’d recommend reading the following guidance as some roads have changed recently.

Travel & Parking

Driving to Theatr Clwyd has changed slightly following our redevelopment with the road in front of the theatre now permanently closed.

  • Driving to us via Raikes Lane: As you drive up Raikes Lane turn right just past the old County Hall building as you drive up the hill (towards the Registry Office), this will take you past the front of the County Court (if you reach the Glasfryn Pub you’ve gone too far). You’ll then turn left at the roundabout next to the County Hall building to go up the hill towards the theatre and the car parks.
  • Driving to us via the A5119: The road which goes between Mold and Sychdyn/Northop (A5119) has a turning up to the theatre – you’ll head to the top of the hill from the main road and then down to the car parks with the theatre on your left.
  • The underground multi-storey car park now has a level-access pedestrian walkway at the entrance to the car park and the car park’s central staircase has been refurbished. Click here for parking information.
  • Disabled parking is available in the underground or tiered car park.
  • There is an accessible drop off point and turning circle at the front of the theatre. For more information regarding this please contact our Box Office Team

To find us on Google Maps simply click here (but we’d recommend arriving from the A5119 rather than Raikes Lane)!

Our Address:

Theatr Clwyd, Raikes Lane, Mold, CH7 1YA

Building Opening Times

The ground floor of the building is now open to the public from 9am-11pm Monday - Saturday, with light refreshments available from the Bryn Williams Team.

Temporarily our building is open 2.5 hours prior to the performance start time and we'd recommend arriving at least 30 minutes prior to the show starting so you can relax pre-show.

By Road

From the North Wales coast, take the A55 towards Chester, take the exit signed Flint and turn right towards Mold. Go through the villages of Northop and Sychdyn, and look for a well signposted right hand turn into the theatre!

From Chester or North West England, take signs for North Wales and Conway. From the A55, filter left onto the A494 for Mold. As you approach the town, there are well signposted signs to the theatre on your right.

From other directions, go through Mold and take the A494 Queensferry road. The theatre is signposted on the left just after you leave the town.
