Gruffydd Ywain
Gruff is a multi-media creative practitioner working in drama and design. Originally from Dolgellau, he now works as a Creative Director for the BBC in Cardiff. Having won the Drama Medal at the National Eisteddfod in Tregaron in 2022 with his first play "Nyth", he has gone on to write for Pobol y Cwm and Rownd a Rownd. His short play "Maes o Law" was performed as part of the show Ha/Ha, a collaboration between Theatr Cymru and Theatr Clwyd at the Pontypridd Eisteddfod in 2024. He has been chosen for Rondo's new writer development programme and is part of the group of writers in the Literature Wales programme Representing Wales 2025 where he is developing his first novel. He has worked on recent creative projects with Eden, Sŵnami, Cymru Fyw, Gwasg y Bwthyn, Barddas and the Lolfa. He is also a member of the Books Council of Wales Publishing Development Sub-Committee.
