About Theatr Clwyd:
Theatr Clwyd was built in 1976 to provide cultural opportunities for people living in North Wales. It is Wales’ largest producing theatre and our aim is to make the world a happier place one moment at a time.
About Youth Advisory Board:
Our Youth Board meets 4 times a year and is responsible for voicing issues that are of importance to young people to ensure that our Theatr Clwyd programme of shows, events, music and creative engagement is relevant to them.
The Youth Board also works with Theatr Clwyd's Senior Leadership Team and Board of Trustees to scrutinise, support and refine the company's overall strategy and future development.
There may also be opportunities for you to attend industry conferences and undertake training to support your professional development - and you also get to come and see our shows and attend Theatr Clwyd events!
We welcome Board members with specific areas of interest, and there may be opportunities for you to get involved in specific areas of the Theatr's work, such as marketing, development of Welsh language, creative engagement, music and producing.
Anyone is welcome to apply, but the board are also actively seeking male representation on the Youth Board.
What to expect:
- Our Board Members play a key role in advocating for and championing Theatr Clwyd.
- We request a minimum time commitment of 8 hours per year (4 x 2hr meetings). (Remainder of the year - Wednesday 23rd July 2025, Wednesday 22nd October 2025).
- Meetings are generally held in person at Theatr Clwyd, Raikes Lanes, Mold or online.
- Attendance at Theatr Clwyd events and productions.
- The position is unpaid but we will reimburse you for travel to attend meetings.

To apply to become a member of our Youth Board, simply send us a short statement about yourself and why you want to be a member of our Youth Board.
Your statement can be;
- printed on a single side of A4
- or a 3 minute video/audio file.
If submitting a video we can only accept a link, so please upload to One Drive, YouTube, Vimeo or similar.
Audio files must be mp3.

- What does the arts (and Theatr Clwyd) mean to you?
- Why would you like to sit on the Youth Board?
- Do you have any specific skills, experience or knowledge that you would like to share details of with us?
- Tell us about a piece of theatre, dance, music or work of art that struck you and has had a lasting impact on you.
