Theatr Clwyd & Flintshire County Council Take a Bow at Ystadau Cymru Awards
Theatr Clwyd's spectacular redevelopment has scooped a Commendation Award at this year's Ystadau Cymru Awards. The national awards celebrate a decade of the Well-being of Future Generations Act and are hotly contested with winners from around Wales.

The transformation of Theatr Clwyd’s much-loved 1976 building has been a joint triumph for Flintshire County Council and Theatr Clwyd who have been praised for their bold commitment to sustainability and maintaining this vital community asset.
The project has ensured an enhanced economic impact for the region, created 80 brand new permanent roles, and delivered a green and sustainable fossil-fuel free building helping the theatre tread more lightly on the planet for future generations.
Theatr Clwyd’s Artistic Director Kate Wasserberg said: “We are delighted that Theatr Clwyd and Flintshire County Council have been recognised for the delivery of our new building, enabling us to continue to serve our community and audiences for generations to come in a more sustainable way.”
Rod Taylor, Flintshire County Council’s Corporate Manager, Capital Programme and Assets, said: “We’re delighted to see this important project recognised at a national level. This award reflects our strong partnership with Theatr Clwyd and our shared commitment to delivering sustainable, high-quality cultural facilities for our communities.”
With fresh spaces for creativity, learning, and cultural heritage, Theatr Clwyd is ready to delight audiences for generations to come.
