Originally from Aberystwyth, Mel Owen is a comedian, screenwriter, presenter and writer.

She has performed stand-up across the UK, including her Chunky Monkey show performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. In 2024, she performed at the Netflix Is A Joke comedy festival in Los Angeles. She was the supporting act for Welsh comedy icons Kiri Pritchard-McLean and Elis James on their latest tours.

Mel has writing credits on Netflix, Channel 4, Radio 4 and BBC One. In May 2025, her first play Mamwlad is being produced by Y Cwmni and will then be broadcast on Radio Cymru.

In 2024, Mel published her first book, Oedolyn(ish!).
