Janet Cartwright
What instruments do you play?
Piano/Voice
How did you get into music?
My family were given an old piano when I was 4 and I started lessons. I was so little, I needed a cushion to reach the keys!
What has been your favourite musical experience?
At 16, I was accepted for the National Youth Choir of Wales. I met so many friends there and learned so much from some amazing conductors.
What do you like to do outside of teaching?
In my spare time, I love going to see shows. I know the songs so well, it's really hard not to sing along!
What is a fun fact about you?
I once sang in a concert alongside a very young Bass Baritone called Bryn Terfel. He's a little bit famous now!
Do you have any ties to Flintshire?
I have lived in Flintshire for 22 years and my children both learned instruments with Flintshire Music Service.
