Got a story to tell? Curious about how films are made?
Join our Filmmaking Club, a fun and hands-on 6-week programme where young people will learn the basics of filmmaking and create their own short micro film from start to finish.
The Big Finish
By the end of the 6 weeks, each group will have created their own micro film, celebrating everything they’ve learned—perfect for sharing with friends and family!
No experience needed — just enthusiasm and imagination!

What You'll Learn
Over six weeks, participants will:
- Learn basic film industry knowledge
- Explore camera shots, angles, and movement
- Use basic filming equipment safely and confidently
- Develop ideas through storyboarding and planning
- Work as a team to generate creative ideas
- Film and complete a micro film by the final week

Creative Associates
Sam started off in TV production working as a production assistant for the BBC on a TV drama, he then continued onto becoming the production driver for CBeebies' 'Justins House'. Sam also worked as a D.I.T (Digital Imaging Technician) on a comedy series which was based in Yorkshire. Sam has regularly worked as a camera OP and editor for smaller local projects throughout Theatr Clwyd.
Charlotte started off as an Actor working in TV for the BBC and Channel 4 and various films in the UK. Charlotte later started in production as an assistant casting director for adverts, TV dramas and films in London. She then moved over to working as a runner on location and in studios and was taken under the wing of the art department for a while working as a props assistant and set dressing assistant. Charlotte decided to move into the production office side of TV and film as a production manager and then moving up into a Senior Producer role working for companies such as HBO, SKY, The Gate Studios, Gleam Futures and various other companies.
