Huw Blainey
Huw is an actor and musician from Pontypridd. He studied at Rose Bruford College.
His theatre credits include War Horse UK & International Tour (National Theatre) The Borrowers (Sherman Theatre) Eye of the Storm, The White Feather, Just Jump (Theatr na nÓg) Twm Siôn Cati, Clera, Lleuad yn Olau (Arad Goch) The Tempest (Taking Flight Theatre) Macbyrd (The Rude Mechanicals) The Snow Queen (Theatre by the Lake) Land of My Fathers (Lurking Truth) and The Borrowers (New Vic Theatre).
He most recently worked on two musicals currently in the development stage - Cooper the Musical (Blackwood Miners’ Institute) and Turning the Wheel (RCT Theatres) respectively. Both productions will hopefully tour Wales and beyond next year.
Huw won the Wilbert Lloyd Roberts Scholarship at the 2018 National Eisteddfod of Wales after his performance in the Musical Theatre Solo competition.
He can also currently be seen on screen as Hywel, the magical farmer in the children’s series ‘Fferm Fach’ showing on S4C.
He is very excited to be working with Theatr Clwyd and The Guild of Misrule for the first time.
