Writers in Residence

Developing writers and new work is vital in the continued creation of world-class theatre in Wales and the UK.

This programme offers playwrights the time and space to write within a community of fellow artists without the pressure of ‘showing’ or producing something. Residencies are often connected to our in-house productions so that writers can get to know other artists working here, spend time observing rehearsals and develop ideas in a supportive environment.

This programme is not currently open to new participants (but when it is we’ll put out an open call through our social media channel and the many theatre and writers groups in Wales and the UK). If you have any questions please drop us a line at writers@theatrclwyd.com.

The programme is run in partnership with Gladstone’s Library
