Schools Festival will be taking place Wednesday 5th July – Thursday 6th July 2023.
Our theme for Schools Festival is ‘Sharing Stories around the World.’
We are looking for 6 Primary Schools to take part. The festival will culminate in a live performance as part of a wider, outdoor festival.
For Schools Festival, we will be celebrating the Japan Youth Exchange and wider relationship with Japan. Over the past 30 years, the exchange had seen people from both Japan and Flintshire Schools connect and travel to each country. We have started collating memories and stories of the exchange which can be viewed here.

- What does taking part in Schools Fest involve?
We as Theatr Clwyd will support each school with a creative artist that will work with you to create something special. This project will be 10 weeks and we would like schools who are ready to commit to this partnership. Give your young people a creative opportunity with Theatr Clwyd...
- When does Schools Fest take place? This year Schools Fest will be between Wednesday 5th July - Thursday 6th July 2023.
- What does this partnership with Theatr Clwyd and your School mean? This opportunity is open to Primary Schools in Flintshire in School Year's 5 + 6. We will work with one class of up to 30 young people. Ideally, we need access to a class-room one day a week. (Mon 17 Apr - Fri 30 June) In order to make this partnership a success, we will require strong commitment towards the project.
- Where does Schools Fest take place? Due to our exciting redevelopment, the performances will take place outdoors as part of a wider festival.
- How many Schools take part? We only have capacity for 6 schools across Flintshire to take part.
