Meriel Schofield
Meriel was born in North Wales, grew up in Chester, trained at RADA and now lives in Manchester.
Meriel has worked extensively for over 30 years in Theatre, TV, Film, Radio, Audio, Corporate and Role Play.
She has appeared in all the major soaps, with several episodes in Coronation St, 3 series of Last Tango in Halifax as School secretary Beverly, stints in Doctors, Hollyoaks, Casualty, Emmerdale, Waterloo Road, Holby City, and soon to be seen in Hullraisers, and many more TV appearances. Film roles include, Carol in Sparkle, Jane (maid) in Mary Shelly’s Frankenstein and playing the nurse in the soon to be released Bolan’s Shoes
Her theatre work includes national tours, West End, repertory and site-specific. She has recently appeared in Theatre by the Lakes production of Tom’s Midnight Garden 2021/22. Other work includes The Manchester Project – Monkeywood Theatre Co (HOME Manchester and at the National Theatre), Smoke – (HOME Manchester), Julius Caesar / A Midsummer Night’s Dream - Storyhouse Company (Chester), Twelfth Night – (Hull Truck Theatre Co), Sgt Musgraves Dance – (Old Vic London), Making the Future - Oxford Stage Co, (Young Vic London). Performing seasons at York, Leeds, Bolton, Lancaster, Oldham, Stoke.
Meriel also voices audio books and has done so for many years.
