Issues talked about in the play
o Stranger danger – how important it is not to go with strangers
o Going away from home – sometimes adults do things to protect children, during the war that was sending them to stay with adults in the countryside to keep them safe
o Bullying – everyone has a story and they might just be having a bad or hard day – what’s important is to talk about it and tell an adult so they can help
o Running away – it’s really important to tell an adult where you’re going, running away doesn’t solve anything
o Not judging people – it doesn’t matter where people are from, what their accent is or the house they live in, what matters is giving people a chance, listening and having fun together.
o Finding Family – not everyone is lucky enough to have a mum or dad around or to have kind, loving parents, but family is more than that – it’s our friends, the people we rely on and the people who love and support us who can become our family.
o Standing up for others and bravery – the kids in the play look after each other to keep each other safe – it’s always better not being on your own.
